Investor: Department of Industry, Innovation and Science (Australian Government) Communities Environment Program ($20,000)
This is a grassroots community led environmental project is helping three Tweed Care groups- Chillingham Landcare, Kingscliff Community Dunecare and Upper Duroby Landcare- to undertake projects that are beyond their day to day capacity.
Through this project professional bush regenerators have been engaged to undertake 9.2 Hectares of environmental weed control. Volunteers at Upper Duroby Landcare will also plant 75 native plants, including koala food trees, to revegetate part of their site.
By working with our Care groups this project will deliver both social and environmental benefits. The project will support 60 regular volunteers who participate in regular working bees to protect and enhance their restoration areas.
