You’ve heard of speed dating, well this is speed planting! Landcare for Singles was held in 2022 as a quirky speed dating initiative held by Tweed Landcare. The concept was simple – plant a tree or two with a new person every 5 minutes and then join everyone to mingle over a free tasty dinner.
The plants included koala food and habitat trees which helped to extend and connect Koala habitat. For many years now, dedicated people have been rebuilding Koala habitat by planting trees and clearing weeds to allow local native species to flourish. This event helped to build landscape corridors for koalas and other threatened species.
